Ovulation Calendar Tips

When my husband and I decided that we were ready to start trying for a baby, I immediately went online to compute my ovulation calendar. I had heard about it from a friend of mine who recently used hers and got pregnant right away. All I had to do was look one up online, type in my menstrual cycle information and then it generated for me a set of dates over the next few months when I would be most fertile and even pointed to the day each month when it expected me to ovulate. I was so impressed with this information and was excited to show it to my husband so that we could mark our schedules to allow time for intercourse on those days which were quickly approaching.

Since I am a Type A personality and always want to know as much as I can about a topic, I read online that you should also use several other methods in conjunction with your fertile window info so that you can be positive that you were timing intercourse accordingly and that you were actually ovulating each month. I went to my local drug store to pick up some Pre-Seed which is a sperm-friendly lubricant, an ovulation predictor kit (otherwise known as an OPK), and a basal body thermometer so that I could take my temperature each month and chart my BBT to confirm ovulation. In addition to these other methods of fertility monitoring, I also kept a close watch on my cervical mucus which I read needed to change from sticky to stretchy and egg-white consistency right around the time of expected ovulation.

By doing all of these things I was on top of my fertile signs and knew exactly when I was ovulating. My husband and I became pregnant within two months of trying and couldn’t have been happier. You can acheive these same results if you use the techniques I mentioned. You have nothing to lose and a baby to gain!
